Apple tree varieties with pink fruits
As apples ripen, some acquire a pale or bright pink hue. This is due to special substances called anthocyanins, which are found in trace amounts in the fruit. When exposed to ultraviolet light, the chlorophyll in the fruit breaks down, becoming colorless, while the anthocyanins, on the other hand, become more pronounced.
