Oatmeal with apple

Oatmeal with apple
Ingredients
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 2 glass milk For those who prefer a thinner porridge, you can add another 0.5–1 cup of milk or dilute it with a small amount of water.
- 1 tablespoon Sahara can be replaced with 2 tablespoons of honey
- 1 pinch salt
- butter to taste
- cinnamon, raisins, berries, nuts, dried fruits or any other fillings - optional
Instructions
- Pour milk into a saucepan and bring it to a boil half-boiling (i.e. until the foam starts to rise - otherwise the milk may boil over) over medium heat (on four).
- Add sugar (or honey), salt, oatmeal to the milk and mix everything thoroughly.
- Next, you need to cook the oatmeal over low heat (on two), remembering to stir, until it thickens.
- When the porridge has reached the desired consistency, add butter, cover the pan with a lid and let it sit for another couple of minutes.
- Wash the apple and peel it if necessary.
- Cut the fruit into slices, remove the seeds and add to the porridge, sprinkling with cinnamon on top (optional).
- Without stirring, divide the dish among plates. Done! Ready to eat.
Note
- To prevent porridge from sticking, choose a saucepan with a thick bottom and stainless steel sides. Cast iron is also an excellent choice.
- If you want the apple to be soft, you can grate it or add pieces during cooking, but then the fruit must be processed and prepared in advance.
- To enhance and enrich the flavor, apples can be caramelized—fried with butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar.
- To prevent dried fruits or raisins from becoming hard, it is recommended to soak them in boiling water for 10 minutes before adding them.
- Avoid instant oats if you prioritize healthy eating—they're high in carbohydrates and have lost most of their nutritional value due to pre-processing.
