Homemade applesauce for the winter
Applesauce is a delicious and sweet dessert that's a great source of energy and vitamins during the winter. It can be eaten on its own or paired with cottage cheese, syrniki, pancakes, or porridge. - 2 kg apples
- 1 Art. granulated sugar
- 1 Art. water
Wash fresh apples thoroughly, peel, and core them. Cut them into small cubes and place them in a saucepan.
Add water, depending on the juiciness of the fruit you may need a little more liquid.
Cover the pan with a lid and turn the heat to the lowest setting.
Stir the apples every 5 minutes to ensure they heat evenly and soften.
Depending on the variety you choose, boil the apples for 30–60 minutes.
Add sugar and stir for another 10 minutes until done.
Once the apples have softened, blend them with an immersion blender until smooth and homogeneous.
Rub the apples through a sieve to obtain a more delicate consistency.
Place the puree in a jar and roll up for the winter.
