Jam made from paradise apples with whole stems
Ingredients
- 1 kg apples
- 1 kg Sahara
- 0.5 pcs lemon
- 1 wand cinnamon
- 400 ml water
Instructions
- Wash the apples and sort them if necessary. Then dry them and cut off the stems in half.
- Make several holes in each fruit using a fork or skewer.
- Bring water to a boil. Then, immerse the fruit in it for three minutes, then quickly transfer it to cold water. This procedure is called blanching.
- Add sugar to 400 ml of water left over from blanching and cook until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Afterwards, pour this syrup over the apples and leave them for four hours to cool.
- Bring the mixture back to a boil. Add the sliced lemon and simmer for ten minutes without stirring. This is to avoid damaging the lemon. You can press it gently with a spatula to submerge it. Let it cool for four hours.
- Bring the mixture to a boil again, then simmer for ten minutes. Remove from heat and add a cinnamon stick. Let it sit for four hours.
- Remove the cinnamon, place the pan on the heat and cook for ten minutes.
- Cool and pour into pre-sterilized jars.
