Apple compote with frozen chokeberries

A fragrant summer compote that can be made right in the middle of winter.

Ingredients
  

  • 200 G frozen rowan berries
  • 200 G apples
  • 1 l water
  • 1 pcs. star anise
  • 2 pcs. carnations
  • 200 G Sahara

Instructions
 

  • Frozen berries should be scalded with boiling water before use. Blanching the rowan berries for a few minutes is optional.
  • The apples are cut into slices and all the fruit is placed in a saucepan along with the spices.
  • Add regular water and let it simmer on low heat, gradually adding granulated sugar.
  • Bring the contents of the pan to a boil and turn off the burner.
  • Let the compote cool and serve.

Note

If you plan to serve the compote immediately, rather than canning it for the winter, it is recommended to strain the drink through a colander before pouring it into glasses.
Use only aluminum containers for blanching.
