Why did the seeds sprout in the apple?
Apples are considered one of the most popular fruits in the world, but few people have ever considered the fact that seeds germinate within them. At first glance, this ability may seem insignificant, but the underlying mechanisms have profound physiological significance. From the fruit's perspective, seed germination is normal and necessary for the fruit's life cycle and subsequent reproduction.
The reason for seed germination in apples
Apples contain a large number of nutrients, minerals, and antioxidants. Each fruit also contains seeds, which contain all the necessary components for germination. This process is possible under certain conditions:
- suitable temperature;
- nutrient soil;
- access to air;
- access to water.
Once in the soil, seeds begin to grow vigorously if all conditions are met. To grow seeds, they must be placed in the soil, provided with regular watering and nutritious soil. The embryos will begin to grow and develop precisely because the necessary components are present.
Apple seedbeds are not only beneficial but also ideal for growing seeds, as the pulp and juice inside help maintain the right level of humidity and warmth. Plant hormones accelerate growth and help break through the hard skin. It's not recommended to throw away the seeds inside apples, as they can be used to grow your own garden.
How often can you observe the process of seed germination inside apples?

Although this process is not supernatural, it is rarely observed in nature. In practice, only one in 10,000 apples will sprout from within. The main factors contributing to internal growth are:
- genetic predisposition of the seeds themselves: some cannot develop in the sun, let alone inside the fruit;
- apple variety and time of harvest;
- location: if the apple is stored in a dark, cold place, the likelihood of growth is reduced to zero.
There are varieties that produce ripening seeds: Albata, Molodezhnoe, Kandil, and Bely Naliv. It's important to note: if you need seeds for propagation, it's recommended to look specifically at these varieties.
