How to use an old aluminum juice cooker: step-by-step instructions for assembly and use
A juicer is a device that extracts fresh fruit or vegetable juice through evaporation. The resulting drinks can be stored for a long time without losing their original quality. This device is quite simple in design and easy to assemble and operate.

How to use an aluminum juice cooker
A juice cooker is a tower-like structure consisting of three pots stacked on top of each other. Despite the variety of models, they all share the same basic design and differ only in size, material, and design. Aluminum juice cookers are affordable and heat up quickly.
What does a juice cooker consist of?
The device consists of the following elements:
- Base – is a small bowl designed for boiling and evaporating liquid, and is located at the bottom of the structure.
- Juice collector – a cylindrical container with a side opening and a steam wand built into the interior. Its main function is to collect the dripping juice.
- Raw material grid A colander is a type of strainer placed over the juice collector. Vegetables and fruits prepared for processing are placed on it. Some models are equipped with additional racks, allowing you to cook food in the juicer, effectively using it as a steamer.
- Lid – is necessary to seal the workspace and condense evaporating steam. Typically, this element is equipped with a small air vent to prevent bouncing.
- Drain pipe with clamp – built into the side opening of the structure. It allows the finished juice to drain.
There are two types of juice cookers: electric and mechanical, such as aluminum models.
Operating principle
Regardless of the method (gas or electric), a juice cooker operates on the principle of steam. Specifically:
- After being plugged in or placed on the fire, the water poured into the lower bowl (base) gradually boils.
- The resulting condensate flows through a tube that runs through the entire device to its upper part.
- The raw material at the top becomes soft under the influence of hot steam and releases juice.
- The nectar flows through the grate into the juice collector located in the middle, where it is pasteurized at a temperature of about 70 °C.
- Once the juice has accumulated in sufficient quantity, it flows out through a drain pipe and into a container placed underneath.
It is not recommended to install a juice cooker made of aluminum on an induction hob, as this may damage the structure.
How to Use an Old Juicer – Instructions for Use
The operating principle of both the new and old-style juice cookers is identical, as the only differences between these models are the materials used and the design. Therefore, if you're using an aluminum juice cooker manufactured in the USSR, you can safely follow the instructions for any new device. To make juice with a juice cooker, follow these steps:
- Prepare the raw materials: wash and peel to speed up the action of the hot condensation on the pulp. Large fruits are cut into small pieces.
- Vegetables, berries, or fruits are laid out on a grill. Sprinkle them with sugar or salt, if desired.
- The base of the device is filled with water (approximately 2 liters), and a juice collector is installed on top, where the nectar will subsequently flow.
- The aluminum structure is placed on the stove and covered with a lid.
- A juice draining tube is inserted into the hole on the side of the central reservoir. The other end is placed in a pre-sterilized glass container.
The outer containers are sealed with sterile lids immediately after filling. The jars containing the juice are turned upside down and left that way until they cool completely.
Before use, glass containers for juice are slightly warmed up to prevent cracks from appearing on their walls when in contact with the hot drink.

How to assemble an old-style juice cooker
The assembly principle of the old juice cooker is the same as that of the new model designs.
What you will need
To assemble the juicer, you'll need to prepare all its components. It's recommended to wash them and let them dry thoroughly before use.
Step-by-step instructions
The assembly of the aluminum juice cooker is carried out in the following sequence:
- Place all the components of the structure on top of each other. Water will be poured into the lower container, which will boil and turn into hot condensate.
- Place a central reservoir—a juice collector—on top of the base, complete with a tap-clamp and a hose located on the side. During operation, steam will flow through the collector, penetrating through small holes to the raw material above.
- Place the fruit in a bowl to be processed. This is where the fruit will be steamed, and the resulting nectar will flow through the holes in the bowl into the juice collector.
- Cover the assembled structure tightly with a lid.
- Place a container under the hose to collect the juice.
To ensure successful juice extraction, it's important not only to assemble the juicer correctly, but also to follow a few rules when using it:
- all parts of the device must fit tightly together and stand level, since even a slight tilt will cause steam to leak out;
- the tap must be tightly closed, otherwise condensate will leak;
- The base should not be filled with water to the brim; the ideal option is to fill it to the middle.
Old-style juicers offer virtually the same advantages as modern models. These designs are quiet and don't require regular cleaning. The juice they produce doesn't leave significant sediment and doesn't require sterilization.
