American apple pie in the oven
Ingredients
- 450 G flour
- 250 G butter (1 pack)
- 150 ml water
- 1 tsp salt
- 5 apples (large)
- 25 G starch
- 150 G granulated sugar
- juice of half a lemon
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- a pinch of nutmeg
Instructions
- First, you need to prepare the dough by mixing sifted flour and salt, add chopped cubes of butter into the mixture and mix well.
- Continue stirring the contents of the bowl and gradually add cold water.
- Wrap the prepared dough in cling film and refrigerate for 2 hours.
- For the filling, peel and slice the apples, add cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar and lemon juice.
- Remove the dough from the refrigerator and divide into 2 parts.
- Roll out one of them and place it in the pan, add the filling, and roll out the remaining dough and cut into strips.
- Cover the filling with layers of dough, as if you were weaving a basket.
- Trim off the excess and fold the edges.
- The pie must be baked for 50 minutes in the oven at 200 degrees.
