Cabbage and apple salad
Making cabbage salad with apples isn't particularly difficult or time-consuming. And most importantly, it's a very healthy dish. Cabbage and apples create a wonderfully light flavor. - 200 G white cabbage
- 1 carrot
- 1 apple
- a bunch of dill
- green onion feathers
- ¼ squeezed juice from 1 lemon
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- a pinch of salt
- 4 deciliters vegetable oil
- ground black pepper
Finely chop the cabbage.
Peel the carrots and grate them coarsely.
Peel the apple, remove the core and grate coarsely.
Finely chop the herbs and onion.
Mix all ingredients thoroughly in a deep bowl to release juice.
Add salt, granulated sugar, one teaspoon of lemon juice and ground black pepper.
Add 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil to the bowl. Mix thoroughly and set aside.
After 20 minutes, you can serve it with mashed potatoes or a meat appetizer.
You can garnish the salad with apple slices, sprigs of dill, or green onions. The following tips will help make the salad even healthier and more flavorful:
— You can add a clove of garlic to the salad, first grating it on a fine grater.
— You can also season the dish with yogurt, sour cream or mayonnaise.
— Instead of lemon, you can use vinegar (if you don’t have stomach problems).
Many cooks prepare this dish with raisins, without adding salt, because the salad ends up too sweet. Therefore, in such a case, it's advisable to use a sweet apple.
