Apple and grape compote recipe in a saucepan
Ingredients
- 5 l. water
- 1.2 kg apples
- 0.6 kg grapes
- 6 tbsp Sahara
Instructions
- Wash the apples and remove the seeds. Cut each apple into several pieces.
- Wash the grapes and pick them from the branches. If the grapes have seeds, remove the seeds.
- Bring water to a boil in a saucepan, add sugar. Place grapes and apples in the water.
- After the water boils, cook the compote for another 3–5 minutes.
- Leave the compote to cool and steep for a couple of hours.
Note
If the apples are small, you don't have to cut them, you can use them whole.
If you are using home-grown grapes, you can add them to the compote directly along with the sprigs.
It is recommended to cook the compote under a lid.
You can add various spices to taste, such as cinnamon and citric acid. Lemon juice is often added.
You can pour the compote directly with the fruit, or strain it. Bon appetit!
